Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 23, 2026

1. Introduction

Live ("we", "our", or "the Service") is a web application at live.nextbizness.com that lets authenticated users create and join real-time voice rooms with chat and optional screen sharing. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and your rights over it.

By signing in to Live, you agree to the data practices described in this policy.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google OAuth. This is used to create your account, identify you inside rooms, and maintain your authenticated session.

2.2 Room Content

When you create a room, we store the title, optional description, category, and mode (conversation or broadcast) you choose. When you join a room, we store a participant record linking your account to that room along with your current role, mute state, and permissions.

2.3 Chat Messages

Text messages you send in a room's chat are stored alongside the room until the room is deleted. Chat messages include the text you typed, your name, your profile picture, and a timestamp.

2.4 Voice & Screen Sharing

When you unmute your microphone or share your screen, your audio or video stream is routed in real time over WebRTC to other participants in the same room. We do not record, transcribe, or store voice or screen content on our servers. Streams exist only while the room session is active and are dropped when you leave, mute, or stop sharing.

2.5 Speaking Indicator

Voice Activity Detection runs locally in your browser to light up your speaking ring to other participants. Only a boolean ("speaking / not speaking") is written to our database — no raw audio.

2.6 Moderation Records

If a room owner promotes you to moderator, bans you from a room, or removes you from a room, we record that action (who, when, which room) so the rule persists for the life of the room.

2.7 Technical & Network Data

Our hosting and WebRTC infrastructure providers may log standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and service reliability. We do not use this data for profiling or advertising.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Authentication: Identify you across sessions and devices.
  • Room presence: Show who is in which room, who is speaking, who is muted, and who is moderating.
  • Voice & screen routing: Transmit your media stream to the other participants in the same room.
  • Chat: Store messages so they appear in order for everyone in the room.
  • Moderation: Enforce room-level bans, kicks, and role assignments.
  • Abuse prevention & security: Detect and stop abuse, spam, or unauthorized access.

We do not use your data to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal data.

4. Third-Party Services

Live relies on a small number of infrastructure processors. We share only the data each category of service needs to function:

  • Authentication provider: Verifies your identity through Google OAuth 2.0 and returns your name, email, and profile image so we can create and identify your account. Google's privacy practices are described in Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Database & backend provider: Stores your account, rooms you own or join, chat messages, and moderation records.
  • WebRTC media routing: Routes your microphone audio and screen-share video in real time between participants. Media is not persisted by this provider.
  • Hosting provider: Serves the Live web application and its server routes.

Each provider processes data only to deliver the service it powers, under their own privacy and security commitments. We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties outside these processors. A current list of named subprocessors is available on request from the contact address below.

5. Data Storage & Security

Account, room, chat, and moderation data is stored in our backend database. All data transmission between your browser, our backend, and infrastructure providers uses HTTPS/TLS. Voice and screen streams are DTLS/SRTP-encrypted end-to-end through the WebRTC layer.

Authentication tokens are stored client-side by your browser (via the authentication library's cookie/local storage mechanisms) and are scoped to the live.nextbizness.com domain.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data (name, email, image): Retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
  • Voice & screen streams: Not stored. Ephemeral for the duration of your active session only.
  • Room metadata & chat: A room is automatically deleted the moment its last participant leaves, which also deletes all chat messages, moderator assignments, and ban records for that room. Owners can also manually end a room at any time.
  • Participant records: Deleted when you leave a room, when you are kicked, or when the room auto-deletes.
  • Service logs (IP, user agent): Retained by our hosting and WebRTC infrastructure providers per their standard log-retention policies.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Withdraw consent by signing out and no longer using the Service
  • Object to or restrict certain processing

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@nextbizness.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Microphone & Screen Permissions

Live only accesses your microphone or screen after you click the corresponding control ("Speak" or "Share screen") and grant permission through your browser. Media capture stops immediately when you mute, stop sharing, leave the room, or close the tab.

9. International Users

Our infrastructure providers operate globally. By using Live, you acknowledge that your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States.

10. Children's Privacy

Live is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
